Standing Tall

The topic i want to talk about today, is  women’s obsession with footwear. The thought occurred to me, when i was watching a TV show. The show bragged about celebrities and their footwear; their obsession with stilettos and other sandals with high heels. These days everything is commercialised, from diapers to condoms. In every advertisement you’d find a beautiful model with long legs and high heels. The obsession with high heels is something we need to bring under the magnifying glass. Why?

The more tall we are the more confident, one feels. This is the thought these commercials and movies  are now inducing into the brains of every person .I remember how my brother was so uncomfortable with my height. He kept nagging me about exercising, which i did.No regrets!

Women and men go to great lengths to look great.Women undoubtedly put their backs at risk when they wear those  en pointe  sandals .Somehow fitting into  cinderella’s shoes makes them feel great even if it means injecting fillers to relieve  pain that comes from wearing high heels. Can’t blame them! There is so much of insecurity hidden beneath all of this.

How they forget some of the greatest people are short.

Avril Lavigne: 5 feet 3 inches

Napoleon Bonaparte: 5 feet 2 inches

Gary Coleman: 4 feet 7 inches

Sachin Tendulkar: 5 feet 4 inches

Rani Mukherjee: 4’11.5

Reese Witherspoon: 5 feet 2 inches

Danny Devito: 5 feet

The advertisement of a health drink declares making people taller.I wonder how this would impact us in the long run.Accepting people like how they are ;and respecting them for what they are, has somehow become biblical.

Just one thing to say to all those people ,who promote the idea of standing tall ; grow up kiddo!
